HALLIDAYS FOLLY
Self Catering Cottages
Halliday's Folly, named as such by locals a hundred and fifty years ago, is a unique and historic building built in 1850 by Thomas Charity Halliday, a stonemason and corn merchant. The Folly has been recently restored and converted into two spacious holiday cottages, both available to rent all year round.

Halliday's Folly and Halliday's Cottage are interconnecting so can be rented either separately or as one large unit.
Halliday's Folly will sleep a maximum of six adults (extra fold out beds are available for children). There are two double bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities, a kitchen diner, large living room with sofa bed, for additional sleeping space, and a separate shower room.
Halliday's Cottage will sleep a maximum of four adults. It is a spacious studio apartment, immediately next door to Halliday's Folly, and is perfect for couples or small families. It comes with a fully fitted kitchen, bedroom area, living room with sofa bed, and shower room.
The Folly is rich in local history. Thomas Halliday restored and repaired churches all over the country and was in the habit of returning home with fragments of medieval stone-masonry, which he incorporated into the front of his building, his 'posh office', and served to advertise his craft. Back in the day Mr. Halliday was a successful man employing some 47 men and 4 boys. His son, Samuel Fancourt Halliday was a one time mayor of Stamford.
